Learning Agreement: Video production

September 24, 2009

Last week a group from our class used their Learning Agreement time to learn to produce videos. After planning the work they needed to do for the week, they learned how to use a DV camera. They then took the cameras to different parts of the school to shoot their footage. Finally they loaded their footage onto our Mac Mini’s and edited using iMovie.

This group decided to show their favourite part of the school: the adventure playground and the football cage.

This week a different group is working on producing a radio programme from our brand new radio studio… watch this space!

For their Science 4OQ have been working on Habitats. Each group was given a different type of habitats which they researched using their laptops.  They then made a group mind map about the habitats.

Origami project

September 15, 2009

Last week for our first learning agreement project we learned origami. Everyone in the class learned to make an origami animal or plant, created their own instructions and taught each other. Some children then presented videos showing how to make their origami.

Welcome from Mr Quinlan

September 14, 2009

Welcome to class 4OQ’s blog. My name is Mr Quinlan and I will be teaching 4OQ this year.

This year we have lots of exciting things going on. For starters we will all have access to our own ‘netbook’ laptop, along with the rest of years 4 and 3. We will also be spending the first hour of every day working on individual or group projects which will be chosen and planned by the children in our class.

Keep watching this blog and our twitter page for updates on what we are learning.
